Overview

It’s true–people are unsure about the details of this advancing project on East 79th Sreet. It’s known that Corocran will be doing the marketing but specific building information and rendering of the building, rooms, and common spaces are hard to locate.

We do know that Meyer Chetrit will be developing the project and that 40 units are expected ranging in price from $1.4 million to roughly $5 million. You may remember Mr. Chetrit for developing the old Helmsley Hotel at 100 West 58th Street. That project, designed by Gwathmey Siegel, is totally beautiful.

H. Thomas O’Hara is the architect for the new 2nd Avenue development. O’Hara–a condo specialist–has previously worked on 425 Fifth Avenue, Sutton 57, the Century Tower, and the Aurora. Based on renderings from Cocoran’s website, the tower should be beautiful. It’s also rather close to being finished.

Entrance View
I’ve read the project should be opening this spring. Based on the photos, summer might be more realistic.
