Aspiring Top Designers design three model homes at 99 John Deco Lofts

TF Cornerstone (TFC), the real estate acquisition and development powerhouse, teamed with Nest Seekers International to host a four-week top interior design competition at 99 John Deco Lofts. Three aspiring designers, Jacquelyn Moore-Hill, Adam Greco and Laura Weatherbee, competed to win $5,000 for designing a residence at 99 John Deco Lofts, located in the Financial District. Potential buyers, design enthusiasts and aficionados were encouraged to come to 99 John Deco Lofts to preview the homes and vote for their favorite designer to receive the popular vote via the 99 John Deco Lofts  Facebook Fan Page and at the 99 John Deco Lofts sales office. The winner of the popular vote, Jacquelyn Moore-Hill received an iPad and the winner of the $5,000 and Top Design award, Laura Weatherbee was chosen by acclaimed interior designer Jamie Drake for his choice of the best design. Both winners were announced on December 2nd by Jamie Drake at the unveiling of the residences during a special cocktail reception at the building.

“We are continuously looking for ways to support the arts as well as bring the community together; this competition served as a great platform for Jacquelyn, Adam and Laura, to showcase their talent,” said Scott Walsh, TF Cornerstone’s director of sales.

Jacquelyn, Adam and Laura were each given a budget of $5,000 with daily access to their apartments. During the first week, the designers toured the building and the residences were chosen from a blind drawing.  Each designer had one hour to measure their space and take pictures of the homes. For the following three weeks, designers selected everything from their wall paint to accent pieces to design their homes. Jacquelyn, Adam and Laura were given video cameras to record their shopping ventures and design progress. The designer lofts have been completely transformed to reflect their personal aesthetic and their takes on the grand, pre-war Art Deco building. The three newly designed lofts will be an addition to the three existing professionally designed model homes.

99 John Deco Lofts – 99 John Street

Located in the heart of Manhattan’s Financial District, the Deco Lofts at 99 John Street bring a distinctly unique flavor to the cookie cutter condominiums of downtown. Back in 1933, the Shreve, Lamb and Harmon architects (the same ones who designed the Empire State Building) designed the 99 John Street building. 99 John Street was renovated into a residential building in 1999; currently, the condominium loft building boasts some of the lowest maintenance/common charges in the area. Like the Empire State Building, 99 John features a classic limestone and granite façade, as well as numerous tiered setbacks on the higher floors. The building itself has quite the history, but the lofts at 99 John are perfectly modern.
