Are you ready for crazy? Jade Jagger, the daughter of Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger, has entered the world of Manhattan real estate with this posh Chelsea condo, bringing her unique vision of interior decorating and design to the 57-unit project. The building is the first for the partnership of Jade Jagger and developer John Hitchcox’s company, “YOO.” It is also following suit to an emerging trend of big name designers and celebrities using their clout to develop buildings for a broader global appeal. Downtown at 20 Pine, Armani has done the same thing. Among the many amenities here, the building is getting the most attention for Jagger’s “pod” concept: a large block unit in the center of the apartment that acts as a kitchen, bathroom, and closet. It also comes in several different colors. I think it may be a bit whacky and risky, but this is Chelsea–who knows what will fly. We are truly witnessing an evolution in condominiums.
