Superior Ink Condominiums and Townhouses

Located on the site of the former Superior Ink factory, which was built in 1919, the new Superior Ink condominium is both aptly named and well loved. Located on West 12th Street, Superior Ink is a new brick and stone luxury condominium community complete with both a residential tower and townhouses that bring the feeling of the future while conserving the historical and architectural of the Village. Designed by architects at Robert A.M. Stern, Superior Ink snagged one of the last waterfront spaces along the Hudson, and boasts 17 stories with 62 oversized residences at 400 West 12th Street, as well as seven one of a kind townhouses that line Bethune Street. Superior Ink’s condominium tower and its townhouses are registered with the United States Green Building Council, and the buildings are anticipating LEED Silver Certification. This means Superior Ink has been built with the benchmarks of energy efficiency, sustainable materials, water conservation and high quality environmental interiors.

Superior Ink Condominium Interiors

The townhouses are a whole other ballgame – these are beyond superior. Where else can you find new construction townhouses, especially ones that are utterly modern yet keep the historical architecture of the neighborhood that surrounds them in mind? The townhouses at Superior Ink offer graceful and expansive floor plans, as well as finishes that evoke the grandeur of a younger West Village. Location
Superior Ink is located in Manhattan’s West Village, one of the most beloved neighborhoods in the city. Long a home to creative types, the West Village may have risen in price, but it still feels like the home of writer, artists and free thinkers. Today, it boasts some of the city’s most famed restaurants and retail boutiques, as well as gorgeously well-kept neighborhood parks. There’s no one in Manhattan who doesn’t dream of living in the West Village – it’s an aspirational neighborhood – when you make it there, you’ve arrived. Superior Ink might be a bit far from public transit, but when you’re on the Hudson, transportation is the least of your worries. Given that Superior Ink’s been popular with celebrities, I’m guessing transportation is the least of the residents’ worries.

Investment Potential
Superior Ink is a great building in a great neighborhood. The convenience factor is at first notable, but at second glance irrelevant given the audience. Related is a solid developer, and Robert A.M. Stern Architects are great. The condominium units are a great investment, with great amenities, finishes and services. The townhomes are incredibly impressive – they’re unlike anything being built right now. New townhomes with private gardens, rooftop terraces, elevators, etc. – where else can you buy new construction townhomes? Condos get an A-, townhomes a rousing A.
