Overview
There is a new mid-rise condo turning heads in Flatiron. Headed by real estate developer Beck Street Capital, the project looks to be a rare Manhattan breed of space and style that distinguishes it from many competing projects. The concept of the development is a lavish but relatively compact low to mid-rise structure that houses 13 lofty and spacious residences that average over 4,000 square feet. To ensure the conversion yields great results, architect Karl Fischer along with interior designers Roman & Williams were appointed the respective tasks of architectural design and interior layouts. As we mentioned in our recent post on 16 Prince Street, Roman & Williams are hot right now for putting truly creative and luxurious design to work. In accordance with the requests of the Landmarks Preservation Commission, the building will retain the original neo-Renaissance architectural form that the building had when it was first built in the early 1900s. An interesting and unrelated fact about this building is that Madonna was a former hat-check girl at the Danceteria, a popular club that was formerly located in this building during the 1980s. Located a few mere blocks away from Union Square and Gramercy, Alma is sure to excite many more potential buyers.
