The Brompton – 205 East 85th Street

The other day I was walking down 3rd avenue towards 86th street when I saw a beautiful picture on the back of a phone booth. It was for The Brompton, a new development currently in the works which was directly behind the phone booth. The renderings I’ve seen so far in magazines and online are incredible. My gut feeling is that this project will rival the Lucida, located one block west on Lexington Avenue. The Brompton is being developed by the Related companies. Related recently did two of the most incredible condominiums in New York–the Time Warner Center and 445 Lafayette Street (@ Astor Place). The Brompton is being designed by Robert A.M. Stern, who’s currently working on a spectacular project at 15 Central Park West. This team will, without question, put up some insanely beautiful condominiums. Perhaps you can even find a unit which is affordable because the building is technically a block off the coveted “Carnegie Hill.” (more…)
