Overview
Residents of Chelsea tell me that Yves Chelsea (pronounced ‘Eve’) is a very talked about project in the neighborhood. Plus, getting detailed information on the project has not been easy. That beings said, we have our sources and the following preliminary glance of what people can expect. The building itself is rendered to be among the most interesting residential buildings along 7th Avenue. With its all glass façade and towering levels it almost seems like a crown for Chelsea. This image is apropos given that it represents all that Chelsea has to offer: Modern, Chic, and sexy! Yet, let us not forget that Yves Chelsea resides on the corner of 18th Street and 7th Avenue: a strip that seemed to be passed over during the major gentrification efforts of Chelsea. Not to worry, this building has more to offer than just a pretty face and fancy name. The floorplans are open and simple, utilizing a boxy appeal and simplistic design which works rather well. Many units offer outdoor space (usually a small 21 square foot balcony) and all units offer amenities like Miele appliances and Valcucine kitchens and baths. The building has a 24-hour doorman, concierge, and a lap pool. The apartments themselves come in three flavors: 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms and range from 701 square feet to 4,599 square feet. Pricing begins at just under a million and the penthouse will be priced at over $10M. Wow. While the building is sure to be loved, hated and talked about, we’re hoping that their marketing and sales team can pull of the large job of selling with an average price of over $1,700 per foot. We wish the Yves Chelsea the best of luck in their sales efforts. (more…)
